Zimbabwean hurdler Ashley Miller Kamangirira produced another landmark performance on the international stage on Saturday, breaking her own national record and securing a silver medal in the women’s 400 metres hurdles at the USATF Lone Star Grand Prix in Texas.
Miller clocked an impressive 54.08 seconds, lowering her previous Zimbabwean record by a remarkable 1.01 seconds in a race featuring some of the world’s top hurdlers.
The Zimbabwean delivered a powerful finish in the closing stages, overtaking former World Championships medallist Shamier Little of the United States in the final metres to claim second place on the podium.
Bahrain’s Kemi Adekoya won the race in 53.71 seconds, while Little settled for bronze in 54.15 seconds.

The performance marks another significant milestone in Miller’s rapidly rising career and further strengthens her position among Africa’s leading 400m hurdlers.
The podium finish could be a major boost for Zimbabwe athletics ahead of upcoming international competitions.
