Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) has aannounced a 15-man squad for the upcoming Twenty20 International series against Bangladesh, with Newman Nyamhuri and Milton Shumba earning places in the team.
The three-match series will be played at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo on 15, 17 and 19 July.
Zimbabwe Cricket Convener of Selectors, David Mutendera said the selectors had opted to retain the core of the squad that reached the Super Eight of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
“The T20 World Cup showed what this group is capable of, so continuity was an important consideration for us.
“We wanted to keep together the core of a squad that reached the Super Eight while also creating room for players who have earned their opportunities,” he said.
Nyamhuri is in line to make his T20 International debut after impressing across formats, while Shumba returns to the national T20 side for the first time since the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
Sikandar Raza will continue to captain the side as Zimbabwe seek to build on their successful World Cup campaign, which included victories over Australia and Sri Lanka.
Ben Curran has retained his place and could also make his T20I debut during the Bangladesh series.
Graeme Cremer misses out after suffering a left-arm fracture, while Brendan Taylor and Tony Munyonga have not been included in the squad.
The T20I series will conclude Bangladesh’s white-ball tour of Zimbabwe after the ongoing One-Day International series in Harare.
