The Zimbabwe Football Association has appointed Yvonne Mapika Manwa as its substantive General Secretary following a competitive recruitment and interview process.
The appointment, announced on Wednesday, marks Mapika Manwa’s return to the role after previously serving as ZIFA General Secretary between 2023 and 2025.
ZIFA said her return brings extensive experience in football administration and governance and forms part of the association’s efforts to strengthen its leadership while advancing its strategic vision for the development of football in Zimbabwe.
“The Zimbabwe Football Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Yvonne Mapika Manwa as the substantive General Secretary of the Association following a competitive recruitment and interview process,” the association said in a statement.
The ZIFA Executive Committee congratulated Mapika Manwa on her appointment and expressed confidence in her ability to lead the association’s secretariat as it pursues key governance and football development objectives.
The association also paid tribute to Norman Gwangwadza, who had been serving as Acting General Secretary, thanking him for his service and contribution during the interim period.
ZIFA said it looks forward to the continued support of its stakeholders as it seeks to grow, strengthen and transform football in Zimbabwe under its renewed leadership structure.
