Dynamos Football Club and the Sports and Recreation National Workers Union of Zimbabwe have agreed to a mutual separation with head coach Genesis Mangombe and members of his technical team after withdrawing all allegations previously levelled against them.
In a joint press statement issued on Tuesday, the club and the union, which represented Mangombe, Newsome Mutema, Tonderai Marume and Britto Gwere, said the parties had engaged “in good faith” and reached an agreement to end their contractual relationship by mutual consent.
The agreement brings to a close a dispute that had seen the four suspended amid allegations of match-fixing, the use of juju and insubordination.
According to the statement, all the allegations have now been “dropped and withdrawn,” while the suspensions imposed on the four have been lifted.
The parties said they had agreed to sign a Mutual Separation and Release Agreement to formalise the terms of their separation.
The joint statement also confirmed that Mangombe, Mutema, Marume and Gwere have been cleared to take up coaching positions with any club of their choice with immediate effect.
“Dynamos FC wishes them well in their future endeavors,” the statement said.
The club and the union said the resolution was reached in the spirit of promoting the game, adding that “football must remain the winner.”
The development clears the way for both the club and the coaches to move forward.
Mangombe will now assume his duties at Triangle United where is tasked with ensuring the team survives relegation while the move paves way for the appointment of Romanian Aristica Cioaba as head coach for the Harare Giants.
