CAPS UNITED forward William Manondo has joined reigning Castle Lager Premier Soccer League champions, Simba Bhora, on a reported two-year deal, Game On can reveal.
Manondo, who won the 2023 Golden Boot, had been linked with a move to moneybags Scottland but the Mbare bred striker has landed at Simba Bhora, where he will be a direct replacement for Tymon Machope.
The gangly Machope is now at Scottland.
The lure of playing Champions League influenced Manondo’s decision, as Simba Bhora will represent Zimbabwe in the 2025/2026 CAF Champions League which kicks off in August.
Manondo bade farewell to CAPS United on Tuesday, through his Facebook Page.
“To the esteemed Director, Loyal Fans and entire Caps United FC Family!
“As I bid farewell to this incredible institution, I’m filled with immense gratitude and joy. Caps United Fc has been my home, my sanctuary and my catalyst for growth.
“To the fans, your love and support have been the wind beneath my wings. Your energy, enthusiasm and kindness have made every match a memorable experience.
“I extend my deepest appreciation to our club President Hon Farai Jere and Head Coach Lloyd Chitembwe for believing in me and granting me the opportunity to spread my wings elsewhere. Your blessings mean the world to me.
“Thank You Caps United Family💚💚,” wrote Manondo
