Barbourfields Stadium is set for an unusually demanding period after being scheduled to host five Premier Soccer League matches within six days, as fixture congestion continues to affect venues in Bulawayo.
According to the latest fixture list, the busy schedule begins on Tuesday, 9 June, when Bulawayo Chiefs take on TelOne. The action continues on Wednesday, 10 June, with Chicken Inn hosting CAPS United, before Highlanders face Agama FC on Thursday, 11 June
All three fixtures are part of the league’s Matchday 17 programme.
Following a one-day break on Friday, 12 June, Barbourfields will again open its gates on Saturday, 13 June, for the encounter between Chicken Innand Herentals
The six-day football marathon will conclude on Sunday, 14 June, with the highly anticipated Bulawayo derby featuring Bulawayo Chiefs and Highlanders, a fixture expected to draw a large crowd as the second half of the season gets underway.
The concentration of fixtures at Barbourfields has been necessitated by the unavailability of Luveve Stadium, which remains sidelined due to homologation issues.
