Flamboyant gold buyer and businessman, Pedzai “Scott” Sakupwanya has a big dream.
He wants his club Scottland FC to not only be the biggest team in Zimbabwe but to be one of the best on the continent.

Scottland FC were crowned champions of the Northern Region Soccer League last weekend, albeit in dubious circumstances, but their celebrations were muted when an appeal by Karoi United was acknowledged by the football governing body ZIFA.

The ZIFA Appeals Committee sits Thursday to look into a decision made by the Northern Region to award Scottland FC three points and a 3-0 score line from their abandoned match against Karoi United in September.

The match was abandoned in the 88th minute, with the scores at 1-1, after controversial referee Mathew Dingo claimed he was hit by a missile and could not continue with his duties.

If the ZIFA Appeals rules against the Northern Region’s decision, then Scottland FC might end up being stripped of their title, with MWOS gaining promotion into the top flight.

However, Sakupwanya is confident his club will play Premiership football in 2025.

He actually wants Scottland FC to be like DR Congo giants TP Mazembe, who are also coincidentally owned by mining mogul Moise Katumbi.

TP Mazembe are five-time African champions.

Addressing Scottland FC players recently, Sakupwanya also revealed why the Toyota Aqua vehicles donated to his players by Wicknell Chivhayo have been branded.

“We are going to go far akomana, I want you to be rich guys,” thundered Sakupwanya.

“I have a friend who told me, Sir Wicknell (Chivhayo) told me we want Scottland FC to be like TP Mazembe.

“He put in US$1 million, I will add more, so that the teams moves forward.

“We also have sponsors coming on board.

“We are going to be the biggest team in the country,” declared Sakupwanya.

On why the Toyota Aqua vehicles given to his players by Chivhayo were branded, the gold buyer said:

“We branded the vehicles so that if you are seen at a lodge unobva waziikanwa kuti uyo ndewe Scottland.

“Stay calm, musazvirove dundundu, rambai muri zii, muchifamba.
