FIFA President, Gianni Infantino has congratulated the 2025 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League champions Scottland for their historic league win in their debut season.
Mabviravira will be handed the trophy on Saturday after bagging the title with two matches remaining before the curtain comes down on the 2025 season.
It was a historic win for the league debutants as they wrote their own piece of history by becoming the first Premiership team to be crowned champions in their debut season.
Black Rhinos did it back in 1984, but the top flight league was still called the Super League.
Scottland FC’s achievement has caught the attention of FIFA president, Gianni Infantino, who has since extended his congratulatory message in a letter addressed to ZIFA president Nqobile Magwizi.
“By means of this letter, I am pleased to congratulate the champions of Zimbabwe, Scottland FC.
“Their constant efforts and results throughout the season have paid off resulting in this important title.
Congrats to each and every member of the team and of the club for the great achievement,” said the FIFA president.
Infantino went on to salute the Magwizi led board for steering football development in the country.
“While thanking you and your association for your continuous support, work and dedication for the development of football in your country.
“I look forward to seeing you soon,” said Infantino.
