Billiat quits Warriors?

Game-On Reporter

SCOTTLAND FC star player Khama Billiat is missing from a 24-man Zimbabwe national team squad announced by new coach Marian Marinica, fueling speculation the former Mamelodi Sundowns player might have quit the Warriors, once again.

The 36-year-old Billiat was forced out of his initial retirement by former Warriors coach Michael Nees last year and played a crucial role as Zimbabwe qualified for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations finals.

Also missing from the squad is Wolves star Marshal Munetsi.

Nees was relieved of his duties last month and was replaced by Romanian Marinica whose first task is the two friendlies against Algeria and Qatar in Saudi Arabia during next week’s FIFA international window.

As expected, Marinica has retained the bulk of the players who did duty under Nees.

Veteran goalkeeper Washington Arubi headlines the 24-man squad.

The 40-year-old Marumo Gallants shot stopper is poised to make history at the 2025 AFCON finals.

Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Sean Fusire and Proper Padera of SJK Seina are also back in the squad.

The Castle Lager Premier Soccer League’s top goal scorer Washington Navaya has also been included after several months of omission.
