REIGNING Soccer Star of the Year, Walter Musona, has saluted football enthusiast and sponsor Brighton Ushendibaba for transforming lives of footballers.
In a touching farewell message, Musona, who is leaving Simba Bhora for Scottland FC, also hailed the Shamva side “for taking my career to another level.”
Musona has left the Premier Soccer League champions and is heading to newly promoted Scottland FC who are bullying the transfer market with reckless abandon.
The winger is set to form a fearsome front three at Scottland FC, alongside 2024 Soccer Star of the Year second runner up Khama Billiat and finalist Tymon Machope.
“I’d like to thank the Simba Bhora FC family for taking my career to another level last season,” said Musona.
He captained Simba Bhora to their maiden league championship last season.
Simba Bhora became the first team from Shamva to lift the title.
Ushendibaba, who is also vying for a place on the next ZIFA Board, has been a key sponsor at Simba Bhora.
“Captaining the team to its maiden championship is now the biggest highlight of my career, and I’m also grateful for the club’s role in helping me become a two-time Soccer Star of the Year.
“I also want to thank the owner of the team, Simba Ndoro, fans, my teammates, the technical team, and our sponsors particularly Brighton Panjap Ushendibaba.”
Ushendibaba played a critical role in Simba Bhora’s title charge often chipping in with vital incentives for the players and technical staff.
“As I open the next page of my career, Simba Bhora will always be in my heart.
“We achieved a lot in a short period and I wish you all the best in 2025,” said Musona.
