PROMINENT traditional healer Sekuru Amos Kafera and Prophet Walter Magaya’s spiritual realms are worlds apart but the two popular individuals are united by one common thing.
While Sekuru Kafera is a renowned herbalist and goblin seller, Magaya is a cleric who leads the heavily subscribed Prophetic Healing and Deliverance (PHD) Ministries.
However, the sport of netball has united the two prominent individuals who both hail from the sprawling town of Chitungwiza.
Sekuru Kafera loves watching sports, when he is not treating patients or selling goblins.
The Chitungwiza based traditional healer’s love for sport has gone a step further as he now sponsors a netball team called Kafera Netball Queens which is based in the Unit J area.
Kafera Netball Queens is part of a 16-team Heart Netball League which is sponsored by Magaya.
The 16 teams also include Chitown City, United Vipers, 5 Stars, Chitown Queens, Moonlight, Super Angel, United Empires, Kingdom Stars, YW4ED, Silent Strikers, Blue Queens, St Agnes, Anathoty and Kwin Queens.
The Heart Netball League has brought excitement and opportunities for women in Chitungwiza.
It is the first organised netball competition in the dormitory town, which is famed for producing a host of netball stars, some of whom have gone on to excel for the national team.
“I am a unique traditional leader in that I also love to see women getting opportunities and sport is one avenue,” Sekuru Kafera says.
“My team has about 16 girls and women from Unit J and surrounding areas and I will sponsor them until they achieve their goals.
“Next week I am going to buy them a new kit,” added Sekuru Kafera.
The 70-year-old is a business minded and flamboyant traditional healer who is a father of over 100 children.
Sekuru Kafera is one of the most sought after traditional healers and is not shy to reveal that he has sold goblins to hundreds of people who are now rich and famous.
