Young Lady-Chevrons of to a flying start

Sports Reporter

ICC T20I U-19 World Cup bound, Zim Ladies U-19 cricket team started off their last training session game in style as they cruised to a nine-run victory against Otmex ICWC’s U-19 in Mumbai, India, Thursday morning.

Having won the toss, the home side opted to field, sending Zimbabwe to bat first.

The young Lady Chevrons were restricted to 89 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their 20 allotted overs with only three players getting double figures.

The three are Kellies Ndlovu, Kudzai Chigora and Danielle Meikle.

Despite posting the modest total, Zimbabwe managed to defend their 89-runs as they restricted the hosts to 79 runs for nine wickets in 20 overs.

Ndlovu was Zimbabwe’s toast as bagged four wickets for nine runs.

Meikle and Chigora also chipped in with the ball, as the duo finished with two for nine runs and one for 27, respectively.

The Young Lady Chevrons left Zimbabwe for India on Friday, and held their first training session on Tuesday as they prepare for the inaugural ICC T20I U-19 tournament to be hosted by South Africa in January
